It might as well work for hours in normal mode, before crashing again. That half hour running in safe mode means nothing. Other, more resource hungry applications would have problems as well, if it was a hardware problem. It has always been clear that it is not a hardware problem. would we know more? Information that helps cure the problem? (I don't see that either)ĭon't take my doubts wrong: I seriously "don't know" and I want to see a sense and result from actions or it is just a waste of time. (I don't see that currently, that's why I am hesitant)Īs I see it, we just would have a "good chance than one of the many services being started in normal mode interferes with OO", what is pretty safe to say already.īut what's the next step from there? How do we find the culprit?Īnd if it crashed anyway. Running it half an hour in safe mode means nothing, sometimes nothing happens for several days, on the other day it crashes every couple minutes.īut assuming I ran it in Safe Mode and it didn't crash for an extended period, would we have any finding that helps us find the source of the problem?

This may be just an issue with my installation but I'd appreciate any guidance on the best steps to take to try to resolve the crashes. I'm not seeing crashes due to any other programs. Installed Physical Memory (RAM) - 16.0 GB Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU 1.80GHz, 1992 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Log Processor(s) This is installed on my Dell laptop (i7, 16G Mem) running Win10 Home (Version 2 Build 18362) and here's the main info from my current system summary: I only use OO occasionally and haven't really needed to dig into it but my need for OO is increasing and I would like to try to figure out how to address my problems. It typically catches the majority of my updates during recovery but I certainly have lost some things at times. It has been crashing intermittently for months now and seems to crash every hour or so (more often when making lots of updates to docs). I'm also having problems with OO 4.1.7 crashing on Win10 (primarily while using Draw, Writer, Calc).
